2021-2022 United Speedway Alliance
General Track, Safety, and Etiquette Rules
1. Classes:
Anyone is welcome to race any class they desire, except for Novice, 13.5 Open, and Open Mod. If you race a Sportsman class, it must be understood that you may be racing against someone of lesser driver abilities. Yelling at, cursing at, or belittling other drivers will result in immediate suspension.
2. Track Marshalling:
After racing, YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY PLACE YOUR CAR AND RADIO ON THE TABLEto the left of the driver stand, and find a spot to track marshal. If you are not physically able to do so, you are responsible for finding a replacement. Failure to marshal will result in a loss of laps from your previous run or a disqualification.
3. Rough Driving:
Rough driving will not be tolerated. If you don’t pull over to wait after getting together with someone, you will be asked to remove your car from the racing surface. Failure to do so may result in a disqualification for that run, disqualification for the day, or suspension.
4. Pulling off to make adjustments during racing:
If you pull of the track to make an adjustment on your car during qualifying heats, and you decide to come back to the track, you must stay out of the way of anyone on a qualifying run or not force them to move over. If you pull off in the Main, you stay off the track.
5. Illegal Parts or Motors:
No unapproved parts or motors allowed. First offense will be a warning and loss of qualifying runs. Second offense will result of suspension for the rest of the day. Refusal to allow technical inspection is an automatic admission of guilt, and you will be asked to no longer participate in the day of racing.
6. LiPo Inspection Procedure:
• Cars must be at the tech table 2 minutes before the end of the previous race.
• Cars will have the battery temperature checked with track temperature gauge.
• Cars will have the battery voltage checked with the track volt meter.
• After cars are teched, they must remain in the pre-race staging area until being placed on the track. Cars taken back to the pit table must go through tech again.
• Battery Voltage: Battery voltage will 4.22v for 1s, and 8.44v for 2s. Any battery reading 4.23v or 8.45v (.01 over) will be allowed to be run down in the tech area. If your battery reads 4.24v or 8.46v (.02 over), you will only be given one opportunity during heat racing to run it down in the tech area. Any battery reading 4.25v or 8.47v (.03 or higher) will be immediately disqualified. The second offense at 4.24v or 8.46v (.02 over) will also be disqualified.
7. LiPo Sacks:
REQUIRED.
8. Conduct:
• Anyone touching another competitor will result in an immediate suspension for the season and possible lifetime ban.
9. Rookie/Novice Classes:
If you are entered in a Rookie/Novice Class, you are only allowed to enter other rookie/novice classes. If you enter a non-Rookie/Novice class, then your skill level is already better than a rookie/novice. Therefore, you are better than rookie/novice status. You may enter a non-rookie/novice class one time to decide if you are ready to move up to the appropriate class. If you win three Novice/Rookie mains, you will be placed in an appropriate class.
10. Novice Class Eligibility:
If you are less than two laps slower than the TQ for the Parent Class (ex. Stock MudBoss or Legend) 3 times, you must bump out of the Rookie/Novice Class and in to the appropriate class.
Qualifying/Racing format:
Pre-race tech: Each car will go through pre-race tech. Failure to do so will result in a loss of that heat.
Qualifying format: Qualifying format is IFMAR-style. What that means is that during each round of qualifying, each racer is on his/her own clock – not racing the other racers per se. After each round of qualifying, racers are then re-seeded in to a qualifier/main event based on his/her best run using number of laps in the allotted amount of time (or, for lap racing, turning the set number of laps the fastest).
Mains: You will be placed in to a main event based on your best qualifying run. Top eight cars will make the A-main, next eight in to the B-main, and so on.
Qualifying Race starting procedures: Qualifying races are started on the front straightaway underneath the drivers’ stand. The first car will roll off at the tone, and each car will roll off behind it. NO PASSING until you pass the scoring loop on the backstretch.
Main starting procedure: Mains are started on the backstretch (opposite the drivers’ stand) and cars are lined up in their qualifying order. Mains are started “on the tone”. As soon as the tone goes off, EVERYONE can go. IF SOMEONE JUMPS BEFORE THE TONE, the race will be restarted and the offender(s) will line up at the rear. Everyone else will move up. IF THERE IS A WRECK on the first lap, the race will be restarted.
Following your heat/main: After your race is completed, place your car/radio on the table to the left of the driver stand and immediately come back to the track area to marshal. There may be times where we need a volunteer or two for marshalling. If you are physically unable to marshal, it is YOUR responsibility to find a replacement.
Random spot checks: The race director(s) reserve the right to perform spot checks for any tech item, including ride heights, tearing down motors, etc.
Track and tech officials word is final. Any arguing with a track or tech official will result in a loss of that run or a complete disqualification for the day.
MOST IMPORTANTLY….have fun and tell your friends about us!
