NORCAR Announcement

Now that we’ve had the opportunity to share this information in person with our racers, we have to make the unfortunate announcement that sometime in the near future we are losing our space.

We received this information this week, unfortunately we do not know when exactly but have been assured we will have at least a 30 day notice when that day comes. We will share any news as it becomes available.

We are actively looking for a new location, and appreciate any leads. We will obviously need help when it comes time to move. And will be sure to post up when that happens.

In the interim, we welcome everyone to come out and race with us at the location we’ve all come to love for the past 10+ years.

Re: GT12 tires at the Halloween Classic.

In an effort to align with other large races (Such as the Indoor Champs), we are relaxing the “no grinding or truing” rule for this race.

You will only be allowed ONE set, use them wisely.

Re: Masks and capacity

Many have heard the governor of Ohio has lifted (most) of the Coronavirus mandates.

We have closely followed their guidelines up to this point and as such masks will now be optional at The Gate.

It is recommended that unvaccinated individuals still wear masks. For anyone still choosing to wear one, please respect their wishes/choices.

Thank you.

Face covering – Ohio guidelines

Post updated 7/27/2020

We ask that everyone makes an effort to follow the governor’s direction with this. We are trying to make our facility accessible to everyone. And please remember for every person that feels uncomfortable wearing a mask, there is another person uncomfortable because you aren’t.

Update reguarding face masks in Ohio. (The Gate is in Ohio)

As of 6pm Thursday.

Under the public health order, people must wear masks in any indoor location other than a residence. It also applies to people who are outdoors and unable to consistently maintain six feet of distance, and while waiting for and riding public transportation or ride shares.

There are exceptions for children under 10 years old, and those with physical and developmental disabilities. People who are actively exercising or playing sports, are officiating religious services, are involved in public safety, or eating and drinking are also excluded.

“I would also urge all my fellow citizens to not be judgmental,” DeWine said. “If someone is in a store and they do not have a mask now, we should assume they have some medical problem. We should assume there is some very legitimate reason why they cannot wear a mask.”

COVID-19 Update

UDPATED 4/2/2020 – Given the orders issued by the Governor this afternoon, The Gate will remain closed through the month of April.

NORCAR has decided to cancel club racing through at least early April. The 1/12 Enduro originally scheduled for April 18 will be postponed to a later date. This is a very fluid and dynamic situation. We will make further updates as necessary.

Please check the website calendar and our Facebook page for updates.
